nba all star weekend
although the nba is my least favorite of the three us sports leagues (that people care about) one thing they do better than anyone is their all star weekend. yesterdays slam dunk contest was one of the best i have ever seen. dwight howard actually put some thought into what he was going to do and came out with 4 unique and awesome and entertaining dunks. if you didnt watch you should check out the video here. i love the mlb all star game and home run derby is fun to watch, but with the skills competition, 3 point shootout, and the dunk contest back to where it should be the nba wins the all star game. the nfl pro bowl is a joke that i never watch. i managed to watch for a little bit and only saw jeff garcia at qb.

give washington teachers a raise

I got this e-mail from my union, if we send the legislator enough e-mails we could get a 6% pay raise next year. (Andrea I'm not sure if it is state wide, but if it is than that would be a raise for you too!!!)

A form email will pop up and you add from the selections what you would like to say. At this time we are sending emails to receive a 3% raise along with the COLA.

so apparently posting the "intergalactic proton powered electrical tentacled advertising droids" video is a sure fire way to get google lead ins. looking at my sitemeter about 30% of my visits are from google searches for that video.

Review: Assassination of Jesse James by the Coward Robert Ford
besides being a ridiculously long movie title, i enjoyed the movie. The acting was top notch, pitt and rockwell were excellent, casey affleck stole the show. between this movie and gone baby gone the younger affleck is cementing himself into hollywood. it is kind of long, and not filled with too much action but its definitely worth checking out.
